Pacific Avenue: Lost In Space

Australian rock darlings Pacific Avenue have delivered their heart-warming debut album FLOWERS, and it's everything we hoped it would be and more. 12 tracks of glorious sun-soaked Rock 'n Roll, with rollicking grooves all the way to classic ballads.

We wanted to know what inspires these new Rock 'n Roll legends, so we asked Pacific Avenue if they got lost in space with a record player, what are 5 albums they couldn't live without?

Album #1

Silverchair - "Freak Show"

"It’s all instant classic with big guitars drums and raspy vocals, it’s basically a 3 course musical meal"

Album #2

David Bowie - "The rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust"

"If we’re trapped in space, most definitely David Bowie's ‘The rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust’. He revolutionised lyric writing through this record and massively furthered the idea of creating a ‘concept album’"

Album #3

Pink Floyd -‘Dark Side of the Moon'

"If I was trapped in space I wouldn’t be able to listen to anything other than ‘Dark side of the moon’ by Pink Floyd. This album takes you on a journey through time and space combining sounds and production techniques that were way ahead of their time. Plus I just love pink Floyd. "

Album #4

Mumford and Sons - "Sigh No More"

"‘Sigh No More’ by Mumford and Sons would be the album that I would take to space. I grew up listening to my dad play music and eventually joining a bluegrass band with him. I’ve always had a love for folk music but Mumford have shown how you can take folk song and turn it into a feel good folk rock track which I love. The Melodie’s and acoustic instruments help to give you those big moments we all love in an album."

Album #5

Jet - "Get Born"

"Our favourite combined album would be ‘Get Born’ by jet. We all grew up  with this album as our introduction to rock n roll. They have taken every good part of that 70’s sound that we love and encapsulated it all into this album. We could honestly probably sing you the whole album from start to finish."

Pacific Avenue: Playlist Picks

We asked Pacific Avenue if they could hook us up with their go-to Spotify playlist for an even deeper dive into their inspirations. It's rock classics and we're here for it. Enjoy!
